The GLOBAL School Consulting Group and GLOBAL School Searches are pleased to join the Pan American Christian Academy in announcing the successful appointment of Mr. John Timothy Nelson as Superintendent. Mr. Nelson is a credentialed and experienced international school educator and leader whose passions include “total release of all that he is for God’s glory, exercising servant leadership, and promoting biblical worldview integration across all academic discipline and school activities.”  He has proven his leadership capacity and commitment to authentic Christian education in a variety of highly-respected school contexts.  Dr. David A. Wells was the recruitment consultant representing PACA through the search process.

John Nelson most recently served for five years as the Head of School at Houghton Academy, a Christian boarding and day school in New York. John began his career in education as a teacher, serving schools in the United States and in Japan.  Subsequently, he has been had a variety of leadership roles, including Principal, Assistant Head, Headmaster, and Head of School at schools in South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong.
Pan American Christian Academy, commonly known as PACA, is an accredited, nondenominational, college-preparatory, Christian, American school located in São Paulo, Brazil - a city with a metropolitan population of about 22 million.  PACA students reflect the multinational community from which they come. PACA serves the children of mission, diplomatic, business, and professional families with a dual curriculum program (American and Brazilian). PACA’s enrollment averages 340 students and the student body is approximately thirty percent North American, thirty percent Brazilian, twenty-nine percent Korean, and eleven percent of other nationalities.

English is the language of instruction at PACA and all students follow an American Curriculum and receive an American high school diploma. Students may concurrently take course work taught in Portuguese to earn a Brazilian diploma.
