Dr. David A. Wells and the GLOBAL School Consulting Group are pleased to partner with the Board of Directors of Holy Land Ministries (HLM) in the search for a strong Christian leader to serve as the next Executive Director of their schools. HLM operates two schools, including the Bethlehem Christian Academy (Bethlehem, West Bank) and The Arab Evangelical Home and School (Hebron, West Bank). The role of Executive Director is a missionary position, with some benefits provided by the ministry combined with missionary support raised by the individual.
Holy Land Ministries exists “to glorify God and provide an excellent education in the heart of the Holy Land” through the operation of two Christian Schools, one in Hebron and the other in Bethlehem, both located in what is often referred to as Palestine. HLM’s involvement in the region began in 1954 with the founding of the Hebron Home & School. This school was established with an orphanage for boys, but over the years has evolved into a Christian elementary school for boys and girls. Arabic is the language of instruction and the curriculum is provided by the Palestinian Ministry of Education. The Bethlehem Christian Academy opened in 2014, and operates under the authority of the Palestinian Ministry of Education, using American curriculum and English as the language of Instruction. Both schools are committed to “bringing the truth of the Gospel message to our students through the ministry of providing outstanding education.”
The Executive Director of HLM Schools serves Holy Land Ministries Ind., a U.S. based non-profit organization. The position responsibilities include maintaining the ministry vision, functional management, financial responsibility, and accountability to the U.S. based Board of Directors. Operationally, the Executive Director is responsible for the supervision of the principals, academic director, operations director, and accountant, and must meet all legal requirements of local authorities and government agencies.
The successful candidate will be someone who shares HLM’s vision, has demonstrated experience in leadership, and is willing to make a long-term commitment. This is a missionary position and the Executive Director must raise their own support. It is strongly preferred that the candidate have an understanding of and experience in Arab culture, some knowledge of Arabic, experience in finance and budgeting, background in an educational environment, and capability to raise funds. Biblical training and basic computer skills are required, as well as a minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, although a master’s in business administration, theology, or education is preferred. The candidate will have leadership experience in administration, teaching experience in a school or church setting, and experience in working in a cross-cultural context. They will have leadership and communication schools, and will be a person of strong faith, reflecting personal integrity and a heart for ministry.
