SUPERINTENDENT | Rift Valley Academy (Kenya)

The GLOBAL School Consulting Group and GLOBAL School Searches are pleased to join the Rift Valley Academy in announcing the appointment of Peter Brian Wilson as Superintendent, effective in August 1, 2021.  Mr. Wilson  is a credentialed and experienced international school educator and leader who has the proven capacity to lead, supervise, and develop academic program and teachers in the school setting.  He has proven his love for children and their development through a variety of initiatives in the school and boarding community.  Peter recently qualified for certification as Head of School / Superintendent from the Association of Christian Schools International.

Mr. Wilson has served as Elementary Principal at RVA since 2013, as well as the Academy’s Deputy Superintendent since 2017.  Peter has served previously as a classroom teacher and support teacher in Scotland, his homeland; an English teacher in Namibia, on the Angolan border; and in other mission-related ministries.  Peter’s successful teaching, missions, and missionary school leadership have uniquely prepared Peter to transition from Deputy Superintendent to the top leadership position at Rift Valley Academy.

With a history spanning back to 1906, RVA hosted its first graduating class in 1950 and has become a cornerstone in the Kijabe community. The Academy sits on 90 acres of the upper escarpment overlooking Kenya’s vast and sunlit Rift Valley. At an elevation of more than 7,000 feet, RVA is sometimes referred to as the school in the clouds, and the campus is frequented by monkeys, baboons, and exotic birdlife.

RVA is comprised of an elementary, a junior high, and a senior high school. As the school continues its march toward spiritual vibrancy and academic excellence, its 500 students bring diverse background from around the globe, including: the Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Australia.  This accredited and highly respected international Christian school focuses on developing graduates who apply biblical truth and develop intellectually, develop and express God-given abilities, and lead healthy lives.”
